The
Northeast Pennsylvania Education Consortium (NEPEC) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3)
corporation of five private accredited colleges and universities located in
Lackawanna and Luzerne counties, northeast Pennsylvania. Its members include
King’s College,
Marywood University,
Misericordia University,
The University of Scranton, and
Wilkes University.
NEPEC’s mission is to provide cost savings, service enhancements, and efficiencies to its member institutions. It is committed to serving its members by: acting as a catalyst and resource for developing and promoting cost saving, the advantages of joint purchasing, and quality improvement initiatives; fostering and facilitating cooperation for the benefit of students, faculty, employees, and the community; and supporting partnerships and collaborative efforts that address common needs and concerns.
The Consortium is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of the Chief Financial Officers from its five primary member institutions. Affiliate, non-voting, membership is available to other nonprofit organizations concerned with higher education, including but not limited to K-12 educational institutions, museums, libraries, coordinating boards or agencies, foundations and societies. NEPEC has a full-time executive director, several business services groups, and maintains an office on the campus of King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
